Scope
- JADE is moving towards XML configuration.
- As typing XML creates a lot of overhead and is error-prone we therefore provide an XML Editor.
- Use of the XML Editor is free under the terms of the Freeware License model.
Functionality
- Manage JADE XML Configuration files
- Assign JADE XSD Schema to configuration files
- Validate configuration files
- The schema-aware XML Editor suggests elements and attributes for configuration
- The XML Editor includes the JADE - Reference Documentation
- The XML Editor will soon be improved to export compatible plain text configuration files (.ini) from valid XML configuration files for JADE releases before 1.11
Operation
- Operate the XML Editor for Windows systems.
- To our knowledge the XML Editor works for Windows Vista, 7, 8, Windows Server 2012 etc.
- The following prerequisites apply
- Miicrosoft .NET Framework version 3.5 SP1 and higher
Installation
- Unzip the download archive to any location in your system
- Run the XML Editor binary
sos.xml.editor.exe
Configuration
- The XML Editor ships with the configuration file
sos.xml.editor.exe.config
- The file name consists of the XML Editor binary file name and the extension
.config
- The configuratin files has to be located in the same directory as the XML Editor binary file.
The following settings can be configured:
Setting Default Description allowRemoveRoot True allows to remove a root node of the xml document allowRenameFile True allows to rename a xml file on the hard disk autocompleteRoot True automatically add the required childs to the root node hasOpenFileDialog True show the open file dialog openLastOpenedFiles True open the last opened files on program start readOnly False open the XML files in read-only mode
