The JobScheduler Operating Center (JOC) Cockpit introduced with Version 1.11 of the JobScheduler is the end user interface for a completely new web services application. It replaces not just the JOC interface provided by the JobScheduler Master up to and including Version 1.10 but also the JobScheduler Information Dashboard (JID) application. The JOC Cockpit integrates and extends the features provided by the "old" JOC and JID into a new browser-based interface.

The web services behind the JOC Cockpit interface are installed separately to the JobScheduler Master and bring a powerful new feature set to the JobScheduler. The architecture behind the JOC Cockpit is described in detail in the JOC Cockpit Architecture article. This article provides a summary of the features provided through the JOC Cockpit.

Multi-Client Capability

  • The JOC cockpit allows service providers to configure both shared and dedicated services over any number of JobScheduler Masters that can be operated from the one interface.

Improved Navigation and Usability

The JOC Cockpit GUI is a complete new development using web-services technology and broadly provides functions for operating, managing and monitoring JobSchedulers for multiple clients. This has ben achieved using modern graphical display techniques to allow the clear representation of large numbers of JobScheduler objects.

  • Graphical presentation of job chains allows for example job dependencies to be clearly shown.
  • Configurable view filters: users are able to organize their daily work by filtering the objects that they can see.
    • Filtering can be done according to:
      • object type (job, order, job chain, etc.)
      • file organization (i.e. folder path),
      • over a specific time period,
      • according to the object state (waiting, late, executed).
    • Filters can be saved and are available locally and globally (i.e. standard shared filters).
  • Introduction of a new run-time editor.
