JobScheduler can be integrated into a TWS environment, with a TWS Agent being used to communicate with JobScheduler via a web service and the TWS "Conman" client.

The diagram below shows one possible landscape in which TWS is used to control SAP systems. This solution was implemented as part of a migration from Control-M to JobScheduler.

  • The TWS agent uses a web service to start orders/jobs in JobScheduler as well as other applications.
  • JobScheduler starts TWS jobstreams identified by the workstation and jobstream name by calling the TWS "conman" command line tool.
  • JobScheduler uses shell scripts to start processes in the applications it controls directly.

The Migration from Control-M to JobScheduler in a TWS / SAP Environment presentation provides more information about the migration as a whole.
