Configuring jobs and orders on a remote computer using FTP to mount a live folder as a network drive

On Windows systems it is possible to use FTP to mount the live folder of a JobScheduler on a remote computer as a network drive and then edit the JobScheduler objects as if they were local.

Preconditions:

  • the remote computer has to have an FTP server
  • the username that is used to log onto the FTP server has to be able to access the configuration files for the JobScheduler on the remote computer.

The mounted drive can now be selected in JOE as described in the JOE documentation.

Opening the network drive in JOE

The remote JobScheduler can now be opened as if it were running locally. It is not necessary to use the menu points:

  • File | FTP | Open by FTP or Open Hot Folder by FTP.
