The update service is installed, when you have checked the option while setup the software. The update service is implemented by a job running periodically (e.g. every tuesday Tuesday 10:00). The job sends a request to a web service at sos-berlin.com. The contents of the file config/.version is are transmitted and also the actual ip IP address will be sent.
If there is a newer version, two possible reaction reactions can be configured.
- inform about the new version with an email
- download the new version and inform with an email
This behaviour behavior depends on the parameter ftp_automatic_downloah1. true|false.
