JobScheduler stores information about the individual objects it processes - jobs, job chains, orders, schedules, etc. - in the form of flat XML files.

These objects can be stored in a so-called "live" folder where objects can be added, modified and deleted whilst the JobScheduler is running.

The XML object files can be edited using a code editor or using the JOE graphic editor.

The advantages of the use of flat files to store JobScheduler object information include:

  • portability
  • integration in a versioning system
