Feature Proposal - Backward Dependencies in a Jobnet
Feature Proposal - Backward Dependencies in a Jobnet
This feature proposal includes designs and samples for backward =
dependeny handling as known from other products such as CA TNG Unicenteri=
=C2=AE, Control-M=C2=AE, Tivoli=C2=AE Workload Scheduler etc.
- The attached samples are not intended for production use and are limite=
d to the following environment:
- JobScheduler release 1.7.4 to 1.8
- Java 1.7
- Deployment
- Download the component dependency.zip and follow=
instructions in Dependency Handling - Components.
- The implementation makes use of JavaScript for the scripting engine Rhi=
no (Java 1.7).
- The implementation makes use of E4X which is not available with the scr=
ipting engine Nashorn (Java 1.8) and would have to be replaced by some othe=
r mechanism in order to be operated with Java 1.8 and later.
- Download the test cases jobnet.zip and follow instructions=
in Test Plan - Sp=
lit & Sync.
- This feature proposal is intended for discussion of a later JobSchedule=
r feature.
- Dependency configuration is far too verbose and will be reduced in a la=
ter feature.
- Dependency configuration for job chains will be automated by use of the=
JobScheduler Plugin Interface as provided with JS-1322 - =
Plugin interface for loading jobs Released
- Implementation with JavaScript Monitor Scripts will be moved to Java.=
